September 25th Meeting

What was discussed at our meeting on September 25th. Collection sites and flyers are complete in Pike, still waiting on some responses from out of county. Media, I had an interview with the Dubois Co Herald on Friday, the story will be in this week's paper. Local 7 news interview this Friday morning. Columbus Container, OFS, and Masterbrand thanks for the collection boxes, they are great, also thanks to all the kids and adults that have helped with decorating collection boxes, they look great!!

Parade, we are meeting at 5:30 behind the court house to walk in the parade for Tractors for Trenton, anyone is welcome. Winslow Pto is doing 2 baskets at their fall festival one for a boy and one for a girl and the proceeds they are going to buy items for us.

Deadline for our application is Nov. 1st, only the board will be reviewing these to determine who will be qualified for our program, foster children our an automatic, but still need to fill an application out. Distribution date of gifts will be on 12-11-11, not sure where we will be doing this yet.
Anyone willing to make homeade items example like hats, or blankets we would be so happy to take these and distribute them.

We talked about having a CPR class at one of our meetings so that we can get more people trained in that, including myself. Wonderful news was given to us about swim lessons, Jason McKinney has offered up free swim lessons on anyone who goes through Tractors for Trenton, and if they would want to donate, he wants anything donated to come back to our organization. We will have more details on this in the future. Everytime I tell this I get chills, this makes me extremely happy.

One idea that was also brought up is doing memory gifts of people who lost loved ones in farming accidents, the item donated by the loved ones family will have a special card on it explaining who this item was donated by and maybe a short memory shared of the loved one.

Next meeting is on October 12th starting at 6:30. Hope to see all of you there, and God Bless!!!

Collection Boxes

Several classes at Otwell Elementary School helped decorate collection boxes for Tractors for Trenton, a non-profit organization to help needy children. Ms. Wiscavers class did an excellent job on their box. Each box is made extra special with the caring and loving hearts of the students. This particular class had a little extra love from Trenton’s big sister Kya attached to it!

Hanging up a flyer

If there is anyone who works for a business or company that would be willing to hang up a Tractors for Trenton flyer, please email your email address to tractorsfortrenton@live.com and we will forward you the flyer along with the story. We want to share our story and reach out to as many people as we can to get Tractors for Trenton information out to all. The more people we can reach, will just be more children we can help and that is what Tractor for Trenton is all about.
God Bless you all :)

Sept 18th meeting

What was discussed at Tractors for Trenton meeting, was officers, and positions. Which is on this page. Collection sites, I will let everyone know where they are once there. Getting big boxes to collect items, Angie Lett Montgomery and Missy K Solomon Schultheis, are looking into this, we needed these like last week, lol, I would like to get these asap, we thought about dropping them by the school for kids to decorate. Flyers were passed out.
Needs were dicusssed
Flyers are always a need, if anyone is willing to print some colored flyers this would be wonderful!!!
Wish lists have been created at amazon, Walmart, and Usborne books, they have many ideas of donations we are seeking.
We are going to come up with an application for families to apply for organization, this would be the kids that that we are giving too.
We talked about getting other organizations to maybe helping us with collections, or making items for us, example maybe toddler size blankets, bracelets, any kind of kid friendly craft item. Also, about kids helping make tags for gifts.
We talked about having information booths at the school fall festivals, also about asking each PTO if they would be willing to make a basket up for Tractors for Trenton at their silent auctions, and take the money to buy items for us.
Homecoming parade, we are wanting to walk in the parade and have kids ride their tractors, gators, or bikes or us pull some in wagons, and pass out flyers to people. Missy said she could get a banner and Brittany Harbin said she could get a truck to drive, if any kids got tired we could put them in the back of the truck.
Lori Loveless is talking to FFA about maybe helping. Also, Subway has already donated some tractors, and she is going to see about have a collection box there and closer to Christmas displaying a tree with our needs on it, maybe paper tractors on it with needs that we need.
We talked about anyone having connections with newspapers, radio stations, about maybe running strories on this, to get our name out there.
We have people checking into Memorial hospital connections newsletter about doing a story on me, and attaching Tractors for Trenton flyers. If any business has an email, that would like to attach flyers to tell employees about us that would be great.
I talked about once we get incorporated about getting swim lessons established somewhere for kids, maybe this spring. Our first focus is Christmas.
That basically sums it up, I again want to thank everyone who came last night and for all of the wonderful ideas they offered up. Also, if you are interested in the parade, please let me know. Most of all I want to continue to thank God for leading me in this, and for always having Jesus there to life me up when needed, I needed Him yesterday afternoon and He was there, He is always there for me!!!
God Bless you all and love to each of you!

1st Kick off meeting on Sunday September 18th @ 6:00-8:00 @ the Otwell United Methodist Church
This is a kick off meeting for Tractors for Trenton in memory of my son. If you want info on this please contact me or come to the meeting.
Thanks so much!
Amber Leighty
This is a nonprofit organization in memory of our son, Trenton Leighty.  Our mission is to collect toys, books, blankets, clothing, or anything  related to farming. We are not collecting monetary donations at this point just items.  Trenton loved farming and was full of life!
We would like to share his love of farming and enjoying life with other children.  All items given will go to underprivileged children at Christmas time, and in doing so, Trenton’s memory will live on through your generosity.
Your donations would be greatly appreciated.
God bless you all!
